About the Chef

The Executive Chef at the Stockton Inn Restaurant is Alan Heckman.

Alan has been working in the hospitality industry for 15 years.  He attended the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Culinary Hospitality Management in 2007.  Alan cut his teeth at Canlis in Seattle WA which was rated the 19th best restaurant in the US by Gourmet Magazine.  Next, to Connecticut to work at Craftsteak under TopChef head judge Chef Tom Colicchio.  From there he accepted the position of sous chef at Aspen Restaurant which is an upscale contemporary American style restaurant in Old Lyme CT.  After two years at Aspen, Alan relocated to Pennsylvania and the Washington Crossing Inn, where he spent the past 4 ½ years.

Along with traveling in the states, Alan has also traveled extensively abroad and trained in Italy, Germany, Holland and Tunisia.
